For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8-10 HCSB
We are saved by the grace of God, and only by His grace.
If we do great works, if we are a ‘good’ person, if we have a ‘loving and caring’ heart; yet do not have Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we do not have Salvation. We must fully believe and accept Christ into our hearts; lock, stock, and barrel. Once we fully accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we will do good works. The works we do are the results of our Salvation; good fruit is born on good limbs, bad fruit on bad limbs. We must remove the bad limbs so that only good fruit is born!
