For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures.
Romans 15:4 HCSB
The Scriptures of the Old Testament are to be read and used to see how God trained and raised the juvenile world of old. Throughout the Old Testament are not only many lessons and examples of God’s mercy and love, but also of how God taught His children how to endure the hardest of hardships. We are to study those examples so that we may be better prepared for the hardships that will befall us; we must study them to see that God is our Provider, God is our Healer, God is our Answer; we can do nothing without God.
