John 13:34-35

“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34-35 HCSB

Jesus gives us a new command, to love as He loved. To understand this, we must know how Jesus showed His love for His Disciples:
Jesus taught them what was right and what was wrong;
He taught them to trust in Him;
He taught them to be generous and kind no matter what;
He taught them that all sin was detestable in the Father’s Eyes;
He taught them that ALL of the Scriptures were to be learned for their lessons;
He taught them to spread the Gospel across all the land;
and He rebuked them when they strayed or faltered.
Jesus loved His Disciples with compassion and discipline; He loved as the Great Teacher which He is, not as an ‘anything’ goes teacher.
Love others as Jesus loved His Disciples; love as the Scriptures say to love.
